Resort Description
Ski Range 1,785m - 3,456m

Guaranteed snow in one of the worlds truly elite resorts.

The ultra high altitude skiing of the legendary Espace Killy virtually guarantees the very best conditions right from late November to early May, whilst the superb modern lift system whisks you rapidly up into a world of varied skiing that really does have something for everyone.

There is a surprising charm to the resort too, with the attractive old village surrounded by sensitive development using lots of stone, slate and wood. Explore the partially pedestrianised centre and discover why the après-ski is just as famous as the skiing!
Child Care
NURSERY - Chalet Hotel Ducs de Savoie & Chalet André
SNOW CLUB - Chalet Hotel Ducs de Savoie
COCOA CLUB - Chalet Hotel Ducs de Savoie & Chalet André

Five mornings a week, children in Esprit Sprite classes and Spritelet Snow Clubbers are collected from the hotel meeting point and the Chalet André by our staff (and/or the ski school instructors) and taken to the appropriate slopes for their lessons or to the resorts Snow Club for morning fun.

At the end of the morning lesson or Snow Club, children joining Supervised Lunch, afternoon Snow Club or with afternoon Sprite sessions will be collected and returned to the Ducs de Savoie for lunch.

The Snow Club is based in the Ducs de Savoie with outings for their specific snow fun activities. All children in afternoon Sprites or Spritelets will be taken to and collected from their session by our staff and will join the Snow Club children for the remainder of the afternoon, before being returned to their "home" chalet for high tea.

We ask that Nursery children are delivered to their designated Nursery by their parents. Nursery lunches are held in Chalet André and in the Ducs de Savoie. Nursery children must be collected by their parents at 5pm and accompanied at high tea, whilst all other children will be supervised by our staff through high tea until 6pm.

Cocoa Club runs in the Snow Club room in the Ducs de Savoie and the Nursery in the André from 7.30pm until 10pm on six nights a week and is available to all children aged 6-12 years. Parents are asked to deliver and collect their children. In both the Ducs de Savoie and Chalet André parents can put their children to bed and enjoy a further hour of relaxation, making the most of our baby-listening/child-patrol service, which runs till 11pm.
The Skiing

FAMILIES ****
With all our child care situated in our Chalet Hotel, just minutes from the slopes, we make Val dIsère ideal for families. It offers the best of both worlds, with a convenient location and excellent childrens ski area for the youngsters, whilst parents can take off into the vastness of the Espace Killy area, while the children are safe and happy in our care.

BEGINNERS ****
The nursery slopes of the village, with their free draglift and chairlift, are the starting point for most beginners, who will quickly progress to enjoy the greens and blues both on the lower resort slopes and high up on the Bellevarde. Another great green is up on the Solaise, the Madeleine, from where fablous panoramic views can be enjoyed.

INTERMEDIATES *****
In many skiers eyes, Val dIsères Espace Killy area quite simply has no equal for keen intermediates looking for variety and challenges, both on and off-piste. From fantastic tree runs to the open acres of the glaciers and long, long cruising blues and reds from top to bottom, the area has absolutely everything any skier could ever ask. We really cannot recommend it highly enough.

ADVANCED *****
With the whole of the Espace Killy to explore, advanced skiers are spoilt for choice! From the Leisse runs on the Grande Motte Glacier to Col des Ves, probably the furthest black from Val, and the long run down the Vallon de la Sache to Tignes Les Brevières, the challenge for advanced skiers will be to race across the whole area skiing them all. The notorious "Face" offers the option of over 1,000m of tricky skiing back to the resort centre, for the perfect end to the perfect day.

POWDER POTENTIAL *****
Val dIsères snow record is legendary, and the offpiste powder can be awesome! There are so many off-piste itineraries that when the powder is deep it’ll be hard to choose but the Col Pers is certainly a route not to miss and for first timers the Pays Desert will get you hooked. Le Fornet is a mecca for those in the know after a heavy snowfall. Local guides are essential for the best off-piste action.

SNOWBOARDING ****
La Daille is home to the snowboard park, where a half-pipe, quarter-pipes, bumps and rails galore will keep even the most experienced boarder happy in the search for big air! Val dIsère also boasts several specialist snowboard schools for beginners or those wishing to brush up on technique. Tignes also has its own superb snowboard park.

Our Esprit Ski Escort will be available for at least 2 days of the week to ski with you and introduce you to the area.
