Resort Description
Ski Range 1,250m - 3,250m
The undiscovered jewel in the crown of the huge Paradiski area Plan-Peisey is a quiet little ski village, whose moment of glory has arrived!
There has been talk for years of joining the adjacent ski areas of Les Arcs and La Plagne, and December 2003 saw these plans finally realised.
The resulting Paradiski area is one of the biggest and best in Europe, and Plan-Peisey lies right at the most perfect spot, directly at the Les Arcs side of the Vanoise Express cable-car, which whisks skiers across the valley between La Plagne and Les Arcs.
Child Care
NURSERY, SNOW CLUB, COCOA CLUB - All Classic Child Care is based
on-site in Chalets des Deux Domaines.
Five mornings a week, children in Esprit Sprite classes and Spritelet Snow Clubbers
are collected from their chalets by our staff (and/or the ski school instructors)
and taken to the appropriate slopes for their lessons or to the resorts Snow Club
for morning fun.
At the end of the morning lesson or Snow Club, children joining Supervised Lunch,
afternoon Snow Club or with afternoon Sprite sessions will be collected and returned
to the Chalet Renard and Chalet Ourson for lunch. On busy weeks other chalets may
also be used for lunch.
The Snow Club is based in a dedicated room in the Chalets des Deux Domaines with
outings for their specific snow fun activities. All children in afternoon Sprites
or Spritelets will be taken to and collected from their session by our staff and
will join the Snow Club children for the remainder of the afternoon, before being
returned to their "home" chalet for high tea.
We ask that Nursery children are delivered to the Nursery by their parents. Nursery
lunches are held in Chalet Renard. Nursery children must be collected by their
parents at 5pm and accompanied at high tea, whilst all other children will be supervised
by our staff through high tea until 6pm.
Cocoa Club runs in the Snow Club room from 7.30pm until 10pm on six nights a week
and is available to all children aged 6-12 years. Parents are asked to deliver and
collect their children.
The Skiing
FAMILIES *****
Plan-Peisey is ideal for families, as initially the childrens lessons will be held in the ski garden just behind the base of the 6-man chairlift, just 50m from our chalets. The numerous blue runs through the forest surrounding the village will also make a day out "en famille" at the end of the week a delight.
BEGINNERS ****
The local village slopes offer plenty of gentle blue runs for practising technique and the opportunities to venture higher on blue runs as you improve, into Les Arcs or across the valley to La Plagne, are limitless. You can even ski all the way to and from Arc 1800 without leaving blue runs.
INTERMEDIATES *****
The Les Arcs side offers you over 200km of wide open pistes to explore and the 4-minute cable-car link to La Plagne opens up another 220km. The high altitude slopes offer complete snow security, and the choice and variety of skiing is simply awesome. One week just wont be long enough!
ADVANCED *****
Skiers in search of a challenge will be spoilt for choice with the number of adrenaline-inducing black runs now accessible. On the home slopes down to Plan-Peisey from Les Arcs is an enjoyably testing run, the Ecureuils, or try the exciting 7km long black from the Aiguille Rouge down to Villaroger. Across the valley on the La Plagne side, head up to the glacier to take on the challenging north face of Bellecote, one of the most famous off-piste routes in the Alps (guide required).
POWDER POTENTIAL *****
With fresh snowfall, both sides of the link offer blissful playgrounds of powder. The tree-lined home slopes of Plan-Peisey will appeal to keen glade skiers, and the open bowls higher up offer endless acres for delightful days of waist-deep skiing.
SNOWBOARDING *****
There is a superb fun-park and half-pipe in Les Arcs and specialist snowboard schools who offer excellent tuition. The well-groomed pistes are ideal for perfecting technique and there are plenty of swooping runs back to the village. Across the link to La Plagne, you can enjoy another fun-park at Plagne Bellecôte.
Our Esprit Ski Escort will be available for 3 days of the week to ski with you and introduce you to the area.
