High altitude skiing on the extensive snow-sure slopes of the fabulous Paradiski area.

Les Arcs is the descriptive name for four purpose built ski resorts at the ascending heights of 1,600m, 1,800m, 1,950m, and 2,000m. Our chalets are all situated in the best of the four – Arc 2000, at the foot of the Aiguille Rouge, in a secluded snow-sure bowl. Arc 2000 offers virtually doorstep skiing with unparalleled views of Mont Blanc and its surrounding peaks.

The ski area of Les Arcs and its connected villages of Vallandry and Peisey-Les Arcs include some of the smoothest and longest runs in the French Alps.

Five mornings a week, children in Esprit Sprite classes and Spritelet Snow Clubbers are met at the meeting point by our staff (and/or the ski school instructors) and taken to the appropriate slopes for their lessons or to the resorts Snow Club for morning fun.

At the end of the morning lesson or Snow Club, children joining Supervised Lunch, afternoon Snow Club or with afternoon Sprite sessions will be collected and returned to the Chalets Mckinley and Olympus for lunch.

The Snow Club is based in Chalet de L’Ours with outings for their specific snow fun activities. All children in afternoon Sprites or Spritelets will be taken to and collected from their session by our staff and will join the Snow Club children for the remainder of the afternoon, before being returned to their "home" chalet for high tea.

We ask that Nursery children are delivered to the Nursery by their parents. Nursery children must be collected by their parents at 5pm and accompanied at high tea, whilst all other children will be supervised by our staff through high tea until 6pm.

Cocoa Club runs in the Snow Club room in Chalet de L’Ours from 7.30pm until 10pm on six nights a week and is available to all children aged 6-12 years. Parents are asked to deliver and collect their children.
The Skiing
FAMILIES ****
The doorstep skiing of Arc 2000 is a major plus for families. The whole family can put their skis on practically outside their front door and be off on the slopes together.

BEGINNERS ****
Les Arcs pioneered and champions the "Ski Evolutif" teaching method, where beginners start on very short skis but ski parallel and progress to longer skis as their technique and confidence improves. There are 24 nursery slopes with some at each resort height and by the end of a week beginners should be able to tackle the longer blue runs down from Arc 2000 to Pré St Esprit.

INTERMEDIATES *****
This is a fantastic area for intermediates, – especially now with the link to La Plagne. Les Arcs alone has 200km of superbly maintained pistes to enjoy, which has been more than doubled with the link to La Plagne, and the ride on the sensational Vanoise Express cable-car across the valley is an experience in itself! Les Arcs also particularly suits mixed ability groups as many of the runs have alternative routes, so easier or more challenging runs can be selected from and to the same spot.

ADVANCED ****
There is much to test the expert skier in Les Arcs. The spectacular "Flying Kilometre" is open for the daring to test their speed skills – the current record is over 150mph! The Aiguille Rouge 7km run to Villaroger involves a spectacular vertical drop of 2000m, and challenging moguls develop on several black runs, guaranteed to test even the most experienced skier.

POWDER POTENTIAL ****
Hiring a guide will ensure you make the most of the extensive off-piste terrain to be explored. The steepest and deepest powder can be found below the Aiguille Rouge and on its East Face the most challenging couloirs can be skied, with permission from the National Park.

SNOWBOARDING *****
Les Arcs is a snowboarder’s paradise, with a superb fun-park and half-pipe complementing the resorts natural terrain. Specialist snowboard schools offer excellent tuition and the well groomed pistes are ideal for perfecting technique. Experienced boarders will also welcome the link with La Plagne.
Our Esprit Ski Escort will be available for at least 2 days of the week to ski with you and introduce you to the area.

APRÈS SKI
Although not a wild resort for après ski, Les Arcs does offer cheerful, friendly bars and cafés for the obligatory vin chaud at the end of skiing. There are several trendy discos and some hotels and bars have occasional live music.
