Description
Ski Range 1,200m - 3,342m
Set in the stunning Dolomites mountain range, offering Italian exuberance and endless skiing.
Selva Val Gardena enjoys the best of Italian and Austrian tradition and is a world-renowned ski area, set in the spectacular Dolomites in northern Italy. These mountains have an enchanting character all their own, with dramatic high-rise pinnacles often glowing a soft pink in the early morning and a fiery red at sunset. The scenery is awe-inspiring, with incredible views from every vantage point. With some of the worlds best snow-making for extra cover and security, Selva makes a wonderful choice for a family holiday.
Child Care

NURSERY - Chalet Marta
SNOW CLUB - Chalet Wiesenheim
COCOA CLUB - Chalets Wiesenheim and Marta

Five mornings a week, children in Esprit Sprite classes and Spritelet Snow Clubbers are collected from their chalets by our staff (and/or the ski school instructors) and taken to the appropriate slopes for their lessons or to the resort’s Snow Club for morning fun.

At the end of the morning lesson or Snow Club, children joining Supervised Lunch, afternoon Snow Club or with afternoon Sprite sessions will be collected and returned to the Chalet Wiesenheim and Marta for lunch.

The Snow Club is based in Chalet Wiesenheim with outings for their specific snow fun activities. All children in afternoon Sprites or Spritelets will be taken to and collected from their session by our staff and will join the Snow Club children for the remainder of the afternoon, before being returned to their "home" chalet for high tea.

We ask that Nursery children are delivered to their designated Nursery by their parents. Nursery children from all chalets will be transferred by our resort minibus and we ask a parent to accompany their child to and fro. Nursery lunches will be held in the Marta. Nursery children must be collected by their parents at 5pm and accompanied at high tea, whilst all other children will be supervised by our staff through high tea until 6pm.

Cocoa Club runs in the Snow Club room in the Wiesenheim and Nursery in the Marta from 7.30pm until 10pm on six nights a week and is available to all children aged 6-12 years. Our staff will collect children from each chalet and return them "home" afterwards.

The Skiing
FAMILIES ****
Selva prides itself on the enthusiastic, genuine and traditionally Italian welcome it gives to families. One of the ski tour routes is specifically designed for children, incorporating several obstacle courses and fantastic ski play areas. Children will feel at home here, with as much to do off as on the slopes.

BEGINNERS *****
The immediate village is well served by nursery slopes and once a little confidence has been gained, beginners will enjoy the extent of blue slopes further across the network.

INTERMEDIATES *****
Intermediates couldnt wish for more! For those who like their ski-day to have a "goal", there are 16 pre-planned ski-tours ready for exploration, taking you right across the vast Dolomites Superski region. No day need ever cover the same slopes and there is plenty of variety to be had, all sharing the same magnificent scenery.

ADVANCED ****
Ski the Mens World Cup Downhill in St Cristina and pound those knees! More testing runs are in the Arabba area of the Dolomites Superski, linked to Selva and part of the famous Sella Ronda. Here the challenging black runs down the Soura Sass are guaranteed to get the pulse of even the most expert skier racing.

POWDER POTENTIAL ****
There are several incredible unpisted runs down to St Cristina from the Alpe di Siusi. Hiring a guide is the best way to discover the best hidden powder runs, known only to the locals.

SNOWBOARDING ****
Selva is ideally suited to free-ride boarders wanting to cover some ground and ride the day away, enjoying the natural terrain. For freestylers, Selva offers a small fun-park, and there are other, larger parks in Canazei, Plan de Gralba and Cortina – all covered on your area lift pass.

Sella Ronda Ski Circuit
This famous ski circuit involves four different valleys and at least 26km of downhill skiing. Exploring some of the side pistes offered by each valley can extend this length considerably. These often offer the quietest and most interesting runs of the Dolomites Superski, being slightly off the beaten track. One in particular, "The Hidden Valley", offers dramatic scenery, quiet uncrowded pistes and a mountainside restaurant that is hard to beat anywhere in the Alps. The Funicular at St Cristina has opened this delightful area further. The Sella Ronda can easily be skied in a day, either clockwise or anti-clockwise and is an achievable goal for early intermediate skiers.
Our Esprit Ski Escort has now been increased to 3 days per week to ski with you and introduce you to the area.
