Family Ski Les Gets
The prettiest resort on the huge Portes du Soleil ski arena, full of traditional Alpine charm
Les Gets with its winning combination – a rarity in France – of a delightful ‘real’ village and the luxury of 650kms of superb skiing to enjoy! It’s no wonder Les Gets has proved a popular addition for Esprit ski families.
Les Gets offers an ideal ski area for mixed ability family ski holidays, and children love Les Gets’ little mini-train, which runs between the main ski-lifts and the Mont Chéry area. Around Les Gets the friendly family skiing terrain is perfect for beginners and intermediates to potter about on. There is a fabulous dedicated area called the Grand Cry where adults may only venture if accompanied by children, where the theme is Trappers and Indians, and the family can enjoy skiing small bumps and bends and visit an Indian tepee.
Les Gets appealing mixture of old chalets in distinctive Savoyard style, which blend to create a charm and character coupled with a warm welcome from friendly locals. There is a colourful main street, enhanced by winter lights and music, with lots of reasonably priced shops, bars and restaurants, an ice-rink, a lovely old church, and a square which hosts a lively weekly market.
Just a convenient 1 1/4 hour transfer from Geneva, Les Gets is a popular part of the fabulous Portes du Soleil ski arena with high altitude skiing, and is the largest international interconnected area in the world, and offers ski families direct skiing access into this huge twin-country skiing area between Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc.
“This holiday has exceeded all expectations. The resort of Les Gets and Chalet Justine were perfect!”
Les Gets, February 2014
Five mornings a week, children in Esprit Sprite classes and Spritelet Snow Clubbers are collected from their chalets by our staff and taken to the appropriate slopes for their lessons or to Snow Club for morning fun.
At the end of the morning lesson or Snow Club, children joining Supervised Lunch, afternoon Snow Club or with afternoon Sprite or Spritelet sessions will be collected and returned to Chalet Aventine for lunch.
The Snow Club is based in the Chaumière with outings for their specific snow fun activities. All children in afternoon Sprites or Spritelets will be taken to and collected from their session by our staff and will join the Snow Club children for the remainder of the afternoon, before being returned to their ‘home’ chalet for high tea.
We ask that Nursery children are delivered to the Nursery by their parents. Nursery lunches are held in Chalet Aventine. Nursery children must be collected by their parents at 5pm and accompanied at high tea, whilst all other children will be supervised by our staff through high tea until 6pm.
Mini Cocoa Club will run in the Nursery 6 nights a week from 7.30-9.30pm for children aged 3-5 years. Parents are asked to deliver and collect their children.
Cocoa Club runs in the Snow Club room in the Chaumière from 7.30pm until 10pm on six nights a week and is available to all children aged 6-12 years. Parents are asked to deliver and collect their children.

The numerous blue and green runs of the resort make it an ideal place to learn to ski, and there is a delightful circuit known as the ‘Blanchot’ to enjoy. Composed of only green and blue runs, the circuit follows a clearly signposted (by a hare!) route around the Les Gets-Morzine ski area.
High up, on the 49 lifts linked with Morzine and regionally in the Portes du Soleil, there is virtually unlimited skiing for intermediates of all standards. Opposite the main Chavannes ski slopes is the smaller Mont Chéry area, with satisfying long runs and some excellent bumps. With only red and black runs, this is a generally quieter and relaxing area, with breathtaking views of Mont Blanc and beyond.
A formidable range of skiing is available on the enormous Portes du Soleil system, with one well-priced pass covering all 12 resorts. With an early start and the help of our ski hosts, have a superb day out taking a circular tour via Avoriaz, Switzerland and Chatel before returning home.
Powder hounds will enjoy being first on the slopes on the far side of Mont Chéry after a night of snow. Here the steeper runs and quieter slopes make for excellent first tracks! Around the World Cup Downhill piste in Avoriaz and the Les Gets Bowl are also some good slopes for powder bashing.
Apart from the free-ride joys of the whole area, there is a dedicated section on Mont-Chéry guaranteed to get snowboarders’ adrenaline running. It divides into two distinct elements – a Flexible Board Park enables boarders to familiarize themselves with all kinds of tables, hoops and raised bends, and the Freestyle District is a course where experienced boarders can develop their big-air techniques! FREE Esprit Ski Host Service Now 3 days per week!
You will not need an expense account for the relaxed, varied and good value après ski and nightlife.
