Family Ski Saas Fee

Traffic-free resort, with guaranteed snow and Swiss charm – a winning combination

Saas Fee is known as ‘The Pearl of the Alps’, and rates as one of the finest jewels in Switzerland’s crown, and unquestionably one of the prettiest villages in the Esprit family ski programme.

Saas Fee is just about the perfect resort for family skiing holidays in several ways. The traffic-free village centre is a huge bonus of course, and the location of our Chalet Hotel Annahof, at the foot of the slopes and close to the main lifts means that minimal walking is required. Added to this are the many attractions for families to enjoy together beyond the skiing itself, such as the excellent leisure centre, the ice-grotto, and tobogganing – always a major hit with Sprite-age children!

Few resorts enjoy a more spectacular location than this, Saas Fee is surrounded by thirteen towering 4,000m peaks, in a delightful valley culminating in the huge glacial snow-bowl of the ski area itself. Completely snowsure, the slopes drop over a whole vertical mile from the spectacular top station at Mittelallalin down to the picture-perfect village, making for some sensationally long cruising runs.

Our fantastic Chalet Hotel Annahof is ideally located right at the foot of the ski area, with skiing to the doorstep, and conveniently close to all three main ski-lifts, as well as to the ski-school’s children’s ski area.

Saas Fee’s choice of high-speed lifts whisk you from close to our Chalet Hotel Annahof to the three main parts of the ski area – Plattjen, Felskinn and Langfluh, each of which offers a range of blue, red and black runs. A funicular from Felskinn, or the drag-lifts from Langfluh, then take you on up to the spectacular heights of Mittelallalin at 3,500m, with its famous revolving restaurant and the world’s biggest ice-grotto. From here there is a choice of sensational, stamina-testing runs all the way back down to the village at 1,800m, all set amidst some of the ski world’s most awe-inspiring scenery.
