La Rosiere Snow Report, 21-Feb 2012
15cm fell on Sunday so a good layer of fresh snow is now incorporated into the snow base of 345cm on the upper slopes of Le Belvedere (@2641m) with 212cm in resort.
With a falling of snow on transfer day, conditions were perfect for the start of this week. The sun has been shining on our beautiful south facing resort and with such amazing snow; guests are taking advantage our perfect conditions.
The popular run this week has been the as yet un-named red run coming down from the spectacular La Rosiere landmark, the Fort. The guests have been pleasantly surprised to find an extra run which is not marked on the piste map. It is a challenging run that is by no means superfluous to the resort, offering thrill-seekers an undulating ride complete with sharp descents and tight, narrow turns.
La Rosiere has been bathed in sunshine for the last two days and it is forecast for the rest of the week to continue in the same way.
With cloudless skies, guests are enjoying the opportunity to sit back and relax in between runs in one of our quaint French cafes.
Temperatures continue to be very mild and by the end of the week we are expecting hit the zero degree
This Wednesday sees the next round of the ‘Big Air’ competition taking place on the Tetras run. It’ll be tricks galore as some of Europe’s best skiers and snowboarders compete.
Relais du Petit-Saint-Bernard is hosting an Italian evening tonight with renowned accordionist Lionel Tuaz.
Guests are looking forward to sampling the delights of the visiting band “Mullit” who will be gracing the stage of the legendary Petit Danois on Wednesday night, with there own special interpretation of some classic feel good hits.
