Les Gets Snow Report, 21-Feb 2012
Having snowed all day on Sunday the ski conditions are fantastic with snow depth at the top of the ski area now 230cm and in resort 115cm.
All over the mountain the pistes have been beautifully groomed. In the morning they are a corduroy heaven and by the afternoon the slopes are all still lovely and flat bar a few that turn into fun mogul runs. The snow parks are in perfect condition too with the airbag on Mont Chery now open 4 days a week. Charlie Boardman was spotted on the Chavannes earlier in the week having fun on the pistes and enjoying the sun with us. The sun is definitely making us all feel very happy at the moment and with the temperatures still nice and cold the skiing really couldn’t be better. It’s the snow carnival today so we are going to take part in the parades and going to watch the fireworks tonight at the bottom of the pistes. The torch lit descent was great last night too with the ESF instructors showing off their finest skills. Later this week we are looking forward to more music and torch lit descents in the village so there is lots of fun to be had.
The weather is going to be beautiful over the next few days there are big sunny days coming up and with temperatures hovering around zero the conditions really couldn’t be better. Also with little wind even when we have a cold snap it is still going to feel lovely and warm on our faces.
