Selva Val Gardena Snow Report, 3-Feb 2012
It’s been a great start to the month here in Selva with fresh snowfall in resort and in the surrounding areas with 5cm falling yesterday. Yesterday on a trip over to Cortina the hosts got to ski on fresh powder after 20cm of fresh snow fell on Wednesday night.
This morning in Selva there are clear blue skies giving skiers and boarders the chance to enjoy the spectacular views of the Dolomites whilst speeding around the Sellaronda.
The extremely cold conditions ensure that the slopes can be perfectly prepared overnight by the snow canons, that mixed with the latest snowfall put the pistes in perfect condition and give early morning skiers the chance to make some fresh tracks!
Weather forecast for next 3 days is for extremely cold, clear skies today and light snow showers tomorrow with Sundaymostly cloudy.
Friday night is Ice Hockey night, tonight’s game sees local team HC Gherdeina play HC Appiano Sparer Geruste. With only 3 games left this season there is everything to play for!

Coming up next Friday, the famous international touring ski competition will be taking place. The Sellaronda Ski marathon takes place at night and competitors have to ski along a total of 42km, overcoming the four passes of the Dolomites – the Sella, the Gardena, the Campolongo and the Pordoi.
