Tignes Snow Report, 27 Jan 2012
With the snow fall during the middle part of the week the resort feels nice and fresh again and the upper slopes now have 205cm whilst in resort there is 148cm.
The blue sky yesterday allowed the snow to pack down and the avalanche risk to tumble now down at 2 which opens up the world famous Tignes off piste runs with a reduced risk.
On piste conditions are truly fantastic. When cruising around resort you can count on good snow that will allow edges to easily catch. All major access runs into Tignes and Val d’Isere are open and beautifully pisted allowing the faster skiers to build speed.
The clouds are forecast to return to Tignes with broken snow fall forecast for the next three days. Temperatures are forecast to plummet which will go a long way to maintaining snow conditions. Winds are forecast to be low which should keep the majority of resort open through the weekend.
With a new slide contest in the centre of Tignes Val Claret allows the local talent in Tignes to show off their freestyle skills. It is open to all abilities so even the most basic ablities can have a good.
