Val d’Isere Snow Report, 21-Feb 2012

Val d'Isere, France15cm of snow fell on Sunday through to Monday morning leaving a depth of snow of 220cm on the upper slopes and 160cm around the resort.

Ski conditions could not be better at the moment! The recent cold front from Eastern Europe has passed, and the temperatures on the mountain have risen, providing excellent opportunities to relax outside on a deck chair at one of the many mountain top restaurants throughout the Espace Killy. The recent top up of snow over the weekend has left the pistes in a fantastic condition. Now is a perfect time to experience zone tranquile, an area dedicated to relaxed skiing on gentle green runs, beginner and advanced skiers can both enjoy the laid back skiing offered by this part of the ski area. At the other end of the scale, anyone looking for a more extreme challenge should investigate the Toviere to Le Chevril off piste guided tour. This is an opportunity to take advantage of the excellent powder skiing conditions currently available, as well as instruction on off piste awareness and a helicopter ride back to resort!

Weather forecast for next 3 days is for Sun, Sun and more Sun! Temperatures will remain just below zero, so the snow will stay in good condition.

ESF will be putting on their spectacular show this week, involving fireworks, DJs, a freestyle demo and a torch lit descent of the face by all the ESF instructors in resort. This show is great fun for all ages and is definitely not one to be missed! (And of course, there will be free vin chaud and hot chocolate being served throughout!)
