Val d’Isere Snow Report, 3-Feb 2012
Conditions are currently incredible. The sun is out and there isn’t a cloud in the sky! The slopes have a base of 210cm that is being groomed to perfection every night.
The cold front from eastern Europe has resulted in low temperatures, which is keeping any remaining powder at the perfect consistency, prolonging the off piste skiing in the area. The clear conditions are allowing piste control to groom the whole ski area every night, meaning all the pistes are currently fabulous to ski on.
Even the infamous “Santons” is open, a run that is usually closed off, guests should take the opportunity to try this challenging, yet rewarding, gulley run. Those of you off-piste enthusiasts after an even bigger challenge should try and find “the lost valley”. Ask our staff about the location of this hidden route, known only to locals and seasonaires, and experience a feeling of true off-piste exploration!
Weather forecast for next 3 days is for sunny skies, low winds and low temperatures!
There have been sightings of none other than the gladiator himself Russell Crowe in resort this week! Reports say that he is in fact staying very close to one of our own Ski Total Chalets! There are also rumours that the Top Gear presenters will be staying in resort next week to film a segment for the upcoming series. So keep an eye out and you may find yourself on the next episode of Top Gear!
