Find the Perfect Ski Resort

Skiing with Esprit Ski means you can make the most out of your holiday experience. Whether you want to try for the first time, perfect your carving technique or master the moguls, we have a resort for you! And you don’t have to worry about the children as we have the biggest choice of child care services in skiing. Read on to discover our recommendations and tips for best resorts for beginners, intermediates and advanced.

Best for Beginners

If it’s your first time skiing or snowboarding then the most important thing is to get the resort right. You want to choose a resort that has easily accessible nursery slopes and also gentle slopes for you to progress to.  You will also want to be able to hire ski and boots in resort so that you can change them if they don’t work well and maybe it is worthwhile hiring ski clothing too until you know what really suits you. We are here all the way to help you make the best choices.

Tignes

Tignes is high, snow sure and has a very good range of nursery, intermediate and expert slopes, accommodation, non-skiing activities and après-ski.

Our accommodation, child care facilities and children’s ski area are all conveniently close to one another, and with runs back to Le Lac from both sides of the valley for skiing parents as well as the nursery slopes, this is an easy resort for the day to day logistics of a family ski holiday. Furthermore, our partner ski-school has an excellent reputation for caring for English youngsters in Sprite lessons.

What we like best?

Tignes is snow sure and you learn on free lifts so no need to buy a lift pass from day 1!

La Rosiere

La Rosiere is a sunny and snow sure resort high above the Tarentaise valley.

Esprit’s La Rosière chalets dominate the area close to the nursery slopes and opposite the main lift system. This prime location makes family ski holidays a joy! The children’s ski classes muster outside the Grandes Alpes chalets, from where their instructors lead them to the appropriate slopes. Parents need only cross the adjacent car park to reach the lifts and be skiing. Perfect!

What we like best? The nursery slopes are just by the main lifts (and our chalets) with easy progression on to nearby blue open runs.

Best for Intermediates

So you’ve had a few ski holidays already but even the most experienced of skiers can benefit from ski school – taking lessons from the experts is the quickest and by far the safest way to progress, as well as great fun.  We use the best ski schools, with English-speaking instructors, to ensure the best results. Adult classes take place in groups of approximately 6-12 and hours vary depending on your resort and country. The week usually ends with a fun ski race where you can show off your new skills. These are our recommended resorts for intermediate skiers.

Alpe d’Huez

Alpe d'Huez is the main hub resort of the fabulous ‘Grandes Rousses’ ski area, offering plenty of family skiing opportunities with miles and miles of wide open cruising pistes and many above the tree-line. There are a number of villages to visit for lunch in this vast ski area and maybe build up energy to tackle the 16km Sarenne run.

What we like best? The variety and extent of skiing terrain for all standards.

Val d’Isère

Guaranteed snow in one of the world’s truly elite resorts.

The amazing ultra high altitude skiing of the legendary Espace Killy almost guarantees the very best conditions from late November to early May, whilst the superb modern lift system whisks you rapidly to a world of varied family skiing, Val d’Isère really does have something to offer for the perfect family skiing holiday.

What we like best? Great skiing and good value for money with superb offers on Espace Killy lift passes!

St Anton

St Anton is one of the oldest and finest resorts in the Alps, featuring a newly developed village centre and famous for its challenging pistes and powder bowls.

It’s greatest appeal is in its biggest ski area which will make keen skiing parents’ eyes light up, with 260 kms of pistes and 180kms of unpisted ‘deep snow runs’ to choose from and a snow record to be proud of.  The new 8-person gondola from the village centre to the Rendl area has further opened up skiers’ choice of superb pistes to enjoy. Not only St Anton and St Christoph, but also neighbouring Lech and Zürs and the generally quiet but fabulous Sonnenkopf area (all reached by ski-bus), are covered on the Arlberg lift-pass.

What we like best? Massive ski area famed for its huge and consistent snowfall and the extra 66 km of piste that was added last year!
