What Ski Property Is Right For You?

A family ski holiday is a wonderful experience; from enjoying time on the slopes to indulging in delicious food and staying in cosy accommodation. Once you’ve decided to book a winter holiday the next step is to research which ski property is best for your family.

Esprit Ski has a variety of property types to suit every family, including chalets and hotels as we explore in this article.

Chalets

Our range of chalets are designed with families in mind, offering the perfect home away from home experience. The chalets come in all shapes and sizes, including warm and welcoming options for smaller, individual families or larger properties which are ideal for extended groups.

What Facilities Can I Expect At A Chalet?

Children from 17 weeks and up are welcome at our family ski chalets and properties are fully equipped with everything little ones could want. We understand that it is not possible to pack all the essentials that you may need, therefore we have kitted out our chalets to ensure your holiday goes as smoothly as possible. Take advantage of the plethora of equipment at your disposal including baby baths, cots, high-chairs, sterilisers, toys and free baby food.

Many have extra features such as a hot-tub, sauna or log fire making our chalets a great choice for families who enjoy slaloming down the slopes as well as curling up in comforting surroundings to relax and unwind. Some properties even have an in-house swimming pool or free access to the resort leisure centre.

What About Meals?

One of the joys of choosing a chalet is that you don’t have to worry about cooking because our staff prepare and serve a hearty breakfast, afternoon tea and a three-course evening meal six days of the week. The staff day off gives you the chance to enjoy some of the local delicacies in the resort. Alternatively, you could settle down in your living room to enjoy a more leisurely supper such as a takeaway pizza.

To add some local flavour to your cuisine, we have introduced a regional menu for one night of your stay which contains a variety of tasty dishes specific to the country you are staying in. This means you can look forward to some gastronomic delights after working up an appetite on the slopes.

Which Chalet Should I Choose?

It is worth sitting down beforehand to figure out how many members will be going on holiday and which airport you will be flying from. We have a range of chalet holidays available departing from a range of airports across the UK which means you are sure to find an option which suits your needs.

Accommodation options for ski holidays in France include the contemporary style Chalet Aiglon in Tignes which sleeps up to eight guests or the Chalet Camelia in La Rosière which boasts a slope-side location and sleeps up to 14 guests.

Chalet Hotels

A chalet hotel is a great choice for larger groups as it offers the ambience of a chalet on a larger scale. Many of our chalet hotels are located a few moments’ walk from the slopes making them convenient for families who enjoy their time on the piste.

What Facilities Can I Expect At A Chalet Hotel?

All suites and bedrooms are guaranteed to have private en-suite facilities and there are larger dining-rooms and more public areas such as a residents’ bar and lounge. Some of our properties also boast wellness facilities to help you relax after an energetic session on the slopes.

Every chalet hotel has a dedicated area for parents to attend to their child’s needs including a microwave, fridge and bottle sterilisers. We also ensure jars of baby food are always available.

What About Meals?

Our talented and qualified chefs create amazing dishes for chalet hotel guests, which means you can look forward to some freshly prepared delights after a day of navigating the slopes or exploring the resort.

Our staff prepare and serve breakfast, afternoon tea and a three-course evening meal, including wine and coffee, six days a week. Choose from cereals, porridge, cold meats or a cooked breakfast of bacon, sausage, eggs and beans to fuel you for the day ahead. Home-baked cakes and a selection of tea and coffee will be ready and waiting for you to help yourself to after you have returned from the slopes.

To whet your appetite, canapés will be served before the evening meal at our chalet hotels which is the perfect accompaniment to a refreshing post-ski prosecco.

Which Chalet Hotel Should I Choose?

Guests can fly from a variety of airports to our chalet hotels. Chalet Hotel Crystal 2000 is located in Courchevel 1850 in France and has everything you could ask for when choosing a family friendly skiing holiday. This property includes a fun-filled adventure play zone for children as well as being located directly on the slopes, which means you can have a stress-free trip to enjoy the snow.

If you are considering Val d’Isère ski holidays, then it is worth looking at the Chalet Hotel Le Savoie in France. This accommodation is located on the resort’s main street and is a brief walk to the nearest ski lifts, the main ‘home-run’ pistes and children’s nursery ski area.

Hotels

To give guests even more accommodation choices, we also offer a range of hotels to stay in. We launched our new Esprit hotels after teaming up with our partners in France and Austria. This means you can stay in a locally run hotel and enjoy the high standards of service by local staff while still benefiting from our flexible childcare offerings.

What Facilities Can I Expect At A Hotel?

There are many advantages of staying at one of our hotels with attentive staff on hand to make sure everything is in place for your stay, as well as all the traditional family-friendly amenities you would expect.

Many of our hotels include extensive leisure facilities and spa amenities such as a whirlpool, sauna and steam room like the one located at the Hotel Les Bergers. Here, guests also have the option to indulge in the ultimate pamper session by adding a treatment to their spa trip.

What About Meals?

Staying in a hotel means that meals are taken care of, so all you need to do is enjoy your time on the mountain before returning for some wholesome food. Each hotel has its own menu which are full of many delectable dishes freshly prepared by fully qualified chefs for guests to enjoy.

If you are considering a holiday in Belle Plagne in France, take a look at our flagship property, the Hotel des Deux Domaines. Staying here means you get seven nights’ full board with breakfast, lunch, after-skiing snacks, children’s high tea and a generous buffet dinner with wine. It has established itself as a favourite amongst families and is now run by one of our trusted partners, MMV, who successfully manage a number of hotels in the French Alps.

Which Hotel Should I Choose?

Our hotels are situated in France and Austria and each have their own quality and charm. The hotels are conveniently located close to the slopes (all of them are ski-in), making this type of accommodation an ideal choice for large groups and families with young children.

Local staff provide catering and housekeeping at the hotels while childcare services will be run by the Esprit team. If you have any questions you can speak to an Esprit rep during your stay.
