Key Information

Esprit Mountain Academy is an exciting afternoon activity club for those children aged 6 to 12, who want to solve lots of fun challenges on the mountain. Running 6 days a week, in the afternoons (except on your last day when it'll be in the morning), it includes lots of exploring and fun activities, tailored to suit the children’s ages.

It's a fun way to discover the local nature and learn more about life in the mountains. Your kids will get the chance to learn fun new skills including orienteering, hide and seek with rescue transceivers and constructing survival shelters. Have a go at orienteering and follow animal tracks and clues leading to a hidden treasure. Along with other snow-related challenges like building igloos and analysing snowpack and maybe an afternoon skiing towards the end of the week (depending on ability and the wishes of the group).

On the Friday morning, the Mountain Academy kids will join in with Snow Club for a final morning of fun and games with our enthusiastic Esprit Rangers.

Mountain Academy includes supervised lunch and our rangers do the take-to and pick-up service to meet the local instructor. It is also included in the Daily Activity Diary so parents are updated on their child's day and what they have done.

The programme will vary slightly in each resort and there will be a ski afternoon included, which is a session with fun activities and learning different skills not encountered in usual lessons. This may vary according to the level of the group and may include jumps and a visit to the snow park, or just whizzing around. More ski afternoons can be organised if the group wish and weather conditions may lead to a change of activity.

The feedback from our first year has been tremendous with kids really loving these winter activities.

The activities are run by partner ski school instructors who have buckets of personality and a dedicated professionalism and love of the snow. Available in our three French resorts of La Rosière, Tignes and Val d'Isère, we operate the Mountain Academy with our stringent care ratios of 1:8 for all children aged over 6 years old.
