New for winter 2022/23, our Esprit Mountain Academy is an afternoon activity club for those children aged 6 to 12, who want to solve lots of fun challenges on the mountain. Running 6 days a week, in the afternoons (except on your last full-day when it'll be in the morning), it includes lots of exploring and fun activities, tailored to suit the children’s ages.
Your kids will get the chance to learn fun new skills that could help them if they ever encounter trouble on the mountain, including orienteering, hide and seek with rescue transceivers and constructing survival shelters. Along with other snow-related challenges like building igloos and analysing snowpack and maybe an afternoon skiing towards the end of the week (depending on ability and the wishes of the group).
On the Friday morning, the Mountain Academy kids will join in with Snow Club for a final morning of fun and games with our enthusiastic Esprit Rangers.
The club is run by partner ski school instructors who have buckets of personality and a dedicated professionalism and love of the snow. Available in our three French resorts of La Rosière, Tignes and Val d'Isère, we operate the Mountain Academy with our stringent care ratios of 1:8 for all children aged over 6 years old.
Your children will start the day with a ski lesson. Drop them at the meeting point at 8:45am with some water and a snack to get them through their morning on the slopes.
At 12 noon the children will take off their ski gear and come together for a tasty 2 course lunch with healthy options to enjoy. Lunch including supervision lasts for 2 hours.
After lunch, your children will get changed back into their ski gear and get ready for an afternoon of exploring and fun-filled challenges in Mountain Academy. Activities may vary according to weather conditions and the ages of children. At 5pm, the children will come back inside and get ready for high tea or pick up by parents.
High tea in chalets and Hotels Ducs de Savoie and Le Savoie starts between 5pm and 6pm. If your children are over 3, they do not need to be supervised by parents at high tea, so you can enjoy the evening to yourselves in preparation for your adult dinner, at 7:30pm. Hotel Ducs de Savoie also offers Cocoa Club. Or enjoy your family dinner with the children sharing the tales of their afternoon adventures.
