Our special Easter 2018 ‘pop-up’, at 2,020m!
To give our peak season guests an extra option for Easter 2018, we’ll be running a ‘pop-up' Esprit destination in the charming ski-in/ski-out resort of Kühtai, best suited to families with older children not requiring the full range of services provided with Esprit classic child care.
At 2,020m Kühtai is the highest resort in Austria and only a 40 minute transfer from Innsbruck airport. Located between the Oetzal and Stubai mountain ranges the entire resort is easily accessible on skis. With 44km of pistes, some might call it a small and friendly ski area, yet there’s a welcome variety of runs here. There are a number of family friendly runs with wide sweeping pistes, as well as some wonderful black runs on the northern slopes down to the village and some narrow valley runs on the southern slopes.
In addition to the slopes of Kühtai, the lift pass also includes a further 41km of pistes, just a 15 minute free bus ride away in Hochötz. There are a number of high quality mountain restaurants with large terraces and gorgeous views, especially over to the dam, although many skiers opt to return to their hotel for lunch, attracted by the local specialities on the menu.

Our Easter 'pop up' in Kuhtai is ideal for families with older children with some ski experience. We're offering a slimline version of our 'Classic' childcare found in all other resorts, with ski lessons suitable for older children only, typically 5-12 year olds. As in all Esprit resorts our Snow Rangers accompany the Beginner skiers throughout the class, and providing our convenient signing in and signing-out service for all levels, allowing parents to hit the slopes soon after breakfast.
The exclusive Sprite ski classes available include Sprite Beginners and Advanced classes (for 5 mornings) as well as full day Improver and Intermediate Xtra classes with lunch, supervised by staff, included.
Ski range from 2,020 – 2650m
The easily accessible, wide nursery slopes make learning a pleasure here, and once you've mastered the basics there's a few blue runs higher up, and in neighbouring Hochotz, as well as plenty of reds to explore.
With the majority of runs being red, Kuhtai is perfect for intermediates who will love discovering them all, especially as most are wide and sweeping, and it's so easy to get started and return each day as all of them lead back to the village.
There's 3 black runs to discover here as well as decent touring and off piste options, some of which may appeal to the more adventurous skier who enjoys weaving through some steep, forested terrain.
The K park here offers kickers, rails and open pistes for boarders to perfect their tricks, and the high altitude promises frequent fresh snowfall to add to the fun.
If you're after a really vibrant resort then cute Kuhtai may not be for you as most visitors enjoy the mountain restaurants by day and their own hotels by night. However, the Dorf Stadl and Alte Stube bars play live music regularly and there's one night club if you have energy left to burn.
