Top 5 Highlights Of Esprit Ski’s 2018/19 Ski Season

As the 2018/2019 ski season comes to an end and the snow begins to melt, now is the perfect time to reflect on what has been a ski season to remember at Esprit Ski: from the bountiful snowfall across our ski resorts for families to the fun filled ski lessons for children and so much more. It’s time to take a look at the top five highlights that have made the 2018/19 ski season such a huge success.

  1. Snowfall

It’s wonderful to be able to report that across the Esprit Ski resorts, snowfall has reached some incredible levels throughout the 2018/19 ski season. Children have loved building snowmen, playing games, and taking advantage of the amazing fresh snow. Better still, because our properties are so close to the slopes, our guests and their families were able to make the most of the snow right on their doorsteps.

If you need some reassurance about snow surety for next season, the numbers on 2018/2019 snowfall levels below should give you plenty of encouragement:

    1. Austria – St Anton (726 cm) – the biggest snowfalls were in January
    2. Austria – Obergurgl (621 cm) – the biggest snowfalls were in January
    3. France – Val d’Isere (480 cm) – the biggest snowfalls were in December and January
    4. France – La Rosiere (475 cm) – the biggest snowfalls were in February
    5. France – Belle Plagne (447 cm) – the biggest snowfalls were in February and March
  1. Playing In The Snow

The fun hasn’t just been limited to the slopes at Esprit Ski this season. Let’s not forget the many wonderful activities we put together for children around the resort. Our childcare teams take the kids out onto the slopes to take part in activities, showing them how much fun they can have in the snow, including: building snowmen, bum-boarding, snowball fights, visiting the playground, visiting the stables, playing in snow castles, and even bowling. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed providing the extra activities across our resorts this season and seeing so many children enjoying all that we have to offer.

  1. Ski Childcare

Our childcare programme for family ski holidays has proven to be a true highlight of the 2018/19 ski season for families. We are very proud to offer the UK’s leading childcare programme in the Alps for family skiing and a large percentage of our visitors have taken advantage of this service this season. From our nurseries to our excellent snow club and cocoa clubs, which are available post skiing in the afternoon and evenings, our wonderful childcare staff have been kept busy all winter. Children have enjoyed playing with kids of their own age and taking part in lots of fun activities. As for the adults, our flexible childcare gave parents the chance to fully enjoy the slopes, whilst feeling confident that their children, no matter their age, were having a great time. 1. Children’s Skiing Achievements

Whilst you may be a proficient skier, there have been many parents during the 2018/19 ski season whose kids have never skied before and wanted lessons. We are delighted that so many children have managed to learn with us during the season. All our ski lessons are accompanied by a member of Esprit staff as well as the ski instructor. We have had positive feedback that parents appreciate this additional level of care as well as the added benefit of helping all our Sprites and Spritelets feel more confident on the slopes. This season we have seen so many of our visiting children taking to the slopes for the first time and many more working to develop their existing skills. With guaranteed small classes taking place for specific age groups throughout the day, our ski lessons for children help each child receive the attention they deserve.

  1. Celebrating Special Occasions

Many of our Esprit Ski holiday guests come to the Alps to celebrate a special occasion. Whether it’s a birthday, anniversary or seasonal celebration, we have enjoyed many wonderful moments with our guests in 2018/2019. Our staff have been regularly baking cakes and bringing them to families’ tables at dinner time. We have also enjoyed celebrating other important days of the year including Christmas, ringing in the New Year, indulging on pancake day, spoiling mums on Mother’s Day, and enjoying time together on Valentine’s Day.

The Highlights Of A Family Ski Holiday

As you can see, the 2018/2019 ski season has been incredible, with Esprit Ski offering so much for families to enjoy. 2019/2020 promises to be another fantastic ski season for families and we can’t wait to welcome you to the slopes! Until then, that’s a wrap!
